Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, just ask, we're happy to talk it through.

How do I get started with The Curtain Call?

Reach out through our contact page or give us a call. We'll set up an initial consultation to talk through your space, your goals and your budget, then follow up with next steps tailored to your project.

What areas do you serve?

We work with homeowners across White Rock, South Surrey and Langley, and the wider Lower Mainland of British Columbia.

What does your design process look like?

We work in four phases: discovery, planning, execution and finishing. Discovery is where we get to know your needs and style. Planning is where we develop a design that fits your budget. Execution is when our trades bring it to life, and finishing is where we add the details that make a space feel complete.

How long does a typical project take?

It depends on the scope. A single room, like a bathroom or powder room, often takes six to twelve weeks. A full kitchen renovation or whole-home project takes longer. We'll walk you through a realistic timeline before any work begins.

How much does a renovation or design project cost?

Every project is different, and cost depends on scope, materials and finishes. After our initial consultation, we provide a clear estimate so you know what to expect before committing to anything. No drama, no surprises.

Do you manage the trades and contractors?

Yes. The Curtain Call provides complete project management, including scheduling trades, coordinating timelines and handling day-to-day decisions, so you don't have to.

Do you only take on full renovations, or smaller projects too?

Both. We take on everything from a single room refresh, like new drapery or a repainted kitchen, to complete home transformations. Many of our clients start small and come back for larger projects once they see how we work.

Can you work with furniture and pieces I already own?

Absolutely. We often incorporate existing furniture, art and pieces with sentimental value into a new design, and can reupholster or refinish pieces rather than replace them outright.

Do you offer custom window coverings on their own, without a full renovation?

Yes. Window coverings were where The Curtain Call began, and we're happy to help with drapery, blinds, shades or shutters for a single room or an entire home, whether or not it's part of a larger renovation.

How far in advance should I book a consultation?

As early as possible, especially if your project is tied to a specific timeline, like preparing a home for sale or hosting an event. Lead times for custom fabrics, cabinetry and fixtures can add several weeks to a project.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

For projects that require permits, we coordinate with the appropriate trades and the municipality to keep everything on track, so you don't need to manage that process yourself.

What makes The Curtain Call different?

Thirty years of experience, a small and consistent team, and a genuine commitment to white glove service. We listen closely, manage every detail, and aim to make the entire process feel calm rather than chaotic.
